Brian Keeler

Founder/Persident of BK New Media

Brian Keeler has a diverse, broad-based background in political activism, citizen journalism, Internet community development, business consulting and the performing arts. His work has garnered numerous awards including 2007 Golden Dot award for "Best Web Site – Local, State, or Federal Candidate" (Take19 Political Blog – writer/designer) and the 2005 Kofax Award Nominee for Best New Blog (ePluribus Media – Co-Founder, Exec. Director, and writer).

Previous to his political activism, Brian was an actor for 28 years who had the good fortune to work on the stage, movies and television around the world.

In 2006, Brian was a ground-breaking "Netroots" NYS Senate candidate with extensive online exposure. His campaign developed unique methods for utilizing the progressive on line community and was the first to hold a "blograiser," a combined real time and virtual fund raising event.

Brian is the co-founder of the citizen journalism blogs, The Albany Project, Political Cortex, and ePluribus Media and is known as NYBri in the political online community.

He was VP of Politics and Advocacy for VShift, and Interactive firm that works with candidates and progressive causes around the country. He was also the Director of Communications for the New York State Senate in 2009.

In the 2010 election cycle, Brian ran the Internet operations for the Eric Dinallo for New York Attorney General campaign and consulted with various other state legislature races.

He is now the President of BK New Media, an Internet consulting firm dedicated to helping progressive candidates get elected.
