Pierre Ferrari is president and CEO of Heifer International. Heifer’s mission is to end hunger and poverty while caring for the Earth. For more than 70 years, Heifer International has provided livestock and environmentally sound agricultural training to improve the lives of those who struggle daily for reliable sources of food and income. Heifer is currently working in nearly 30 countries, including the United States, to help families and communities become more self-reliant. Heifer’s goal is to help 4 million families achieve living incomes by 2020, which will allow them to feed their families daily; educate all their children; and have proper housing, water, hygiene and other essential resources. Ferrari joined Heifer International in 2010 with more than 40 years of business experience. He worked for many years with Coca-Cola USA, before deciding in 1995 to focus his energies and business acumen on social issues and to use his skills and aptitude to help, invest in and partner with people living in material poverty to help them achieve self-sufficiency, independence and health, goals that directly align with Heifer’s empowerment-oriented mission. Ferrari is a current board member of the Small Enterprise Assistance Fund; InterAction; Global Impact, and Fair Trade USA.
