Bruce Barcott is a Guggenheim Fellow in nonfiction and the author of "Weed The People: The Future of Legal Marijuana in America." He is a longtime Contributing Editor at Outside Magazine, and his journalism appears in National Geographic, the New York Times Magazine, and Time.com. His previous books include "The Last Flight of the Scarlet Macaw" and "The Measure of a Mountain: Beauty and Terror on Mount Rainier." He lives near Seattle with his wife, the writer Claire Dederer, and their two children.
