Bryan Wood

Combat veteran, author of "Unspoken Abandonment"

Bryan A. Wood is a combat veteran of the war in Afghanistan, and he is the author of the best-selling memoir “Unspoken Abandonment.” Bryan served with the 211th Military Police Battalion while attached to the Third Special Forces Group, and his book is based around the journal he maintained while in-country and the struggles he faced after coming home from the war-torn nation.

Bryan currently works as a Police Detective in west central Florida where, throughout a four week span in early 2011, Bryan's agency lost three officers to gun violence, and Bryan lost a dear friend. These experiences and tragedies provide Bryan with a very unique life perspective and an amazing story.

Bryan now champions for suicide awareness within military veterans. He was awarded the 2012 PACE award from the Florida Department of Mental Health Services in Pinellas County, Florida for his efforts in this area, and he believes his story will help countless thousands of veterans and their families strive for healthier and happier lives.
