Carlton A. Masters

As Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of GoodWorks International, LLC, Carlton A. Masters coordinates client engagement and provides strategic counsel to governments throughout Africa and the Caribbean. Masters co-founded GoodWorks in 1996, with Ambassador Andrew Young, the former US representative to the United Nations, and Hamilton Jordan, the former Chief of Staff to President Jimmy Carter.

Before establishing GoodWorks, Masters enjoyed a distinguished career in international banking. He has held senior executive positions in financial centers across North America, Europe and the Caribbean, and was appointed Agent General and Deputy Minister of Trade to the United States on behalf of the Government of Ontario, Canada. Long active in African affairs, Masters currently is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations and serves on many Boards, including the Southern Africa Enterprise Development Fund. In 2006, Masters was appointed the first Special Envoy of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) on African Diaspora Relations. Formed in 1975, ECOWAS is a regional organization of 15 West African nations.
