Catherine Hiller

Novelist, editor, and cannabis activist

Catherine Hiller has written five novels; Skin, a book of short stories praised by John Updike; and Just Say Yes: A Marijuana Memoir, which led to her cannabis activism. Her short fiction has appeared in the Antioch Review, the Westchester Review, Redbook, Penthouse, and the New York Times Sunday Review. She has also written for MerryJane.com; Cannabis.net; Greenflower Media; and Freedom Leaf Magazine. She was educated at Brooklyn College, from which she graduated summa cum laude, and Brown University, where she received a Ph.D. in English. She is the co-producer of two hour-long documentary films: Do Not Enter: The Visa War Against Ideas, and Paul Bowles: The Complete Outsider. She works as a freelance book editor and continues to write fiction.
