Catherine Orsborn

Scholar-Activist, Campaign Director at Shoulder to Shoulder, Doctoral Candidate in Religious Studies at the University of Denver/Iliff School of Theology

Catherine Orsborn is the Campaign Director of Shoulder to Shoulder, a national campaign of religious and interfaith organizations dedicated to standing in multi-religious solidarity against anti-Muslim bigotry in the US. Prior her current role, Catherine worked at the University of Denver with the Social Justice community on campus, and as a researcher at the Josef Korbel School of International Studies on the project, “Religion and Social Cohesion in Conflict-Affected Countries.”

Born and raised in Kentucky, Catherine has lived in Egypt and Uganda and traveled extensively, which has informed her appreciation for diverse perspectives and experiences and deepened her commitment to social justice and human rights. She received her undergraduate degree from Asbury University in Kentucky, holds an MA in Religious Studies from the University of Denver and is currently a Doctoral Candidate in the joint program in Religious Studies at the University of Denver and the Iliff School of Theology, specializing in religion, conflict and peacebuilding.
