Cathy Tisdale

President & CEO, Camp Fire

Cathy Tisdale is the President and CEO of <a title="Camp Fire" href="http://campfire.org">Camp Fire National Headquarters</a>. She began her career as an educator and then spent 27 years with the American Red Cross, serving in a variety of leadership roles at the local, regional and national levels. In 2007, Cathy joined Girl Scouts of the USA National Headquarters and led the successful, groundbreaking consolidation of 312 councils to 112, completing the effort ahead of schedule. In 2010, Cathy was appointed President and CEO of Camp Fire. Her national leadership roles include: National Association of Women Professionals “Woman of the Year”; Past Chair, National Collaboration on Youth; Nonprofit Leadership Alliance Executive Committee and Board of Directors; America’s Promise Alliance Trustee; Grantmakers for Effective Organizations (GEO) Nonprofit Advisory Board; and Board of Governors for the Academy of Education Arts & Sciences. In Kansas City, Cathy is a member of the United Way of Greater Kansas City’s Executive Leadership Circle and the Women’s Leadership Council; the Leadership Council of the Greater Kansas City Chamber of Commerce, a charter member of the Chamber’s Executive Women’s Leadership Council, and a charter member of the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art’s Committee of 100. Cathy is a featured speaker at national conferences, including AMI, focusing on leadership and youth development and contributes to national media publications. Her interests include travel, cooking, reading, antiquing, wine tastings, current events and any beach at any time of the year.
