Cryn Johannsen has been studying and writing about the student loan crisis for nearly a decade. She has also appeared on CNN, HLN, RT News, and been interviewed by NPR and a host of other radio outlets. Johannsen recently published, Solving the Student Loan Crisis: Dreams, Diplomas & a Lifetime of Debt (available on Amazon in hard copy and Kindle), which details why the US is facing multiple student loan crises today. The book delves into its complex history, how at one point college in the US was inexpensive and even free, and the reasons behind the "finacialization of debt" that has taken place for Americans pursuing degrees in higher education. This book is intended for students, parents who have children going off to college, and the general populace. It is also recommended to policymakers and academics who study issues related to the financing of higher education in the US. Johannsen's book has been reviewed by the New York Review of Books. In addition, intellectuals, such as Henry Giroux and Andrew Ross endorsed it. Her blog, All Education Matters, will be digitally archived by the Library of Congress in November of 2017.
