Charles Dean Connor

President and CEO, The American Lung Association

Charles Dean Connor is President and CEO of the American Lung Association in Washington, DC, which works to save lives by improving lung health and preventing lung disease. Previously he was the Association’s EVP and Chief Operating Officer. Earlier, Connor was SVP for Communication & Marketing for the American Red Cross. Connor has also served as Principal for Client Strategy with The Dilenschneider Group in Chicago, and was the first director of public affairs for the Federal Judiciary, in Washington DC. Prior to this, Connor served for 25 years as a United States Navy public affairs officer, leaving with the rank of Captain. A graduate of Loyola University of Chicago Law School, he is a member of the bar of Illinois and the District of Columbia, holds a B. A. in Political Science from the University of Illinois and attended Portland State University for graduate study in marketing and communications.
