Charmaine Jefferson is Executive Director of the California African American Museum (CAAM*), a statewide agency in Los Angeles' Exposition Park, and Executive Vice President of CAAM’s 501(c)(3) nonprofit partner, Friends, the Foundation of the California African American Museum.
Presenting 9-12 exhibitions and over 80 programs each year, CAAM is dedicated to collecting, preserving, promoting and presenting for public enrichment, the art, history and culture of African Americans. Ms. Jefferson is particularly proud of CAAM’s on-going acts of community
service including its promotion of literacy through art and history; the monthly live Target Sundays at CAAM performances; providing free Docents and Buses for school field trips; and its extremely successful Young Docents high school employment and training program.
