Chris is the founding principal of the Science Leadership Academy, a joint venture between The Franklin Institute and the School District of Philadelphia. SLA has been recognized as the Dell Computing Center of Excellence in Education and was named one of the Ten Most Amazing Schools in Ladies Home Journal.

Among his many honors, Chris was awarded the McGraw Prize in Education in 2014 and was honored as a Champion of Change by the White House in 2011. Chris is co-author of Building School 2.0: How to Create the Schools We Need. Chris blogs at Practical Theory: www.practicaltheory.org and is father to Jakob and Theo.
