Christen Reighter is a poet and essayist--writing primarily on social justice. Her primary advocacy platform is for the childfree-choice, She is often writing and speaking about her experience of obtaining her sterilization at age 23, and how she encountered & confronted harassing societal prejudice, condescending medical paternalism, and civil rights violations Her other interests in writing include LGBTQIA+ rights, gender equality, sex-positivity, women's issues (including sexual assault), and mental health issues and recovery. Also an award-winning spokenword artist, she has competed and performed across the country and in international competitions such Brave New Voices (as seen on HBO).
