Co-Founder/Executive Director, Freedom for Immigrants (formerly CIVIC)
Christina Fialho is the co-founder/executive director of Freedom for Immigrants (formerly CIVIC). Freedom for Immigrants is devoted to abolishing immigration detention, while ending the isolation of people currently suffering in this profit-driven system. Christina is an attorney and the daughter and granddaughter of immigrants. She was awarded the 2018 James Irvine Leadership Award, the 2016 Ashoka Fellowship, and the 2012 Echoing Green Fellowship in recognition of her innovation and entrepreneurship. Christina serves on the Board of Directors for the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) of Southern California and the Steering Committee of the Detention Watch Network.
