Christy Esposito-Smythers

Associate Professor of Psychology, George Mason University

Dr. Christianne Esposito-Smythers is an Associate Professor in the Department of Psychology at George Mason University as well as Adjunct Faculty in the Department of Behavioral and Social Sciences at Brown University. She is also a licensed Clinical Psychologist with expertise in treating children and adolescents. Her clinical research interests primarily include the design and application of cognitive behavioral treatment and prevention protocols for adolescent suicidality, substance abuse, and other high risk behaviors. Her research has been funded by multiple research grants from the National Institutes of Health as well as the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention and the Adolescent Medicine Trials Network for HIV/AIDS Interventions. She currently serves on the editorial boards for the Journal of Clinical Child and Adolescent Psychology and the Journal of Clinical Psychology.
