Chuck Teller

Executive Director, Catalog Choice

Recognizing the burden unwanted mail has on the environment and the underlying privacy issues it brings to consumers, in 2006, entrepreneur Chuck Teller  began developing plans for Catalog Choice in association with his funding partners.  The company launched in 2007, and under Chuck's guidance, Catalog Choice has grown from an idea to its current state with over one million members and hundreds of participating companies.  Chuck works closely with his team to steadily improve the service for both members and companies, while developing new ways to use technology to encourage more sustainable business practices.

With a background in business software and economics, Chuck ran the analytic software company Advance Planning Solutions from 1997 to 2000 and the analytics product line at PeopleSoft, a leading business software company from 2000 to 2004.  Prior to his software career, Chuck spent 10 years as a real estate economist helping public and private clients develop livable urban environments.  In addition to his current role, Chuck runs Realius.com, a prediction market service designed for real estate.  An adviser at the Haas Business School at the University of California Berkeley, Chuck holds a B.S. from University of California and a Masters degree in Urban Planning from University of North Carolina.
