Cirecie A. West-Olatunji, Ph.D.

President, American Counseling Association

Dr. Cirecie A. West-Olatunji is the president of the American Counseling Association. She also serves as Associate Professor and Academic Program Director of the Counseling Program and Director of the Center for Traumatic Stress Research at the University of Cincinnati. Dr. West-Olatunji was an active spokesperson and advocate in regard to relief efforts in Haiti and New Orleans. She led a nationally representative disaster mental health outreach team to Haiti, consisting of counselor educators and other professionals.

Dr. West-Olatunji is a graduate of Dartmouth College and attended Teachers College of Columbia University where she pursued graduate studies in the area of Multicultural Counseling Psychology. Dr. West-Olatunji holds a doctorate degree in Counselor Education from the University of New Orleans.
