Growing up in a small, rural town in Louisiana, he is not a stranger to the difficult issues facing LGBTQ individuals in many communities in the US. After graduating from Teachers College, Columbia University, his educational and professional endeavors have focused on issues of diversity and inclusion for minority student populations on college campuses.
