Before starting her own business, Courtenay worked as Public Policy Director for the American Civil Liberties Union of Florida. In 2012, she moved to Colombia, where she launched her blog, Barranquilla or Bust! International relocation and other leaps of faith. Courtenay holds a Bachelor of Arts in Latin American Studies from Yale University.
