Craig Regester

Associate director, The University of Michigan Ann Arbor’s Semester in Detroit Program

Craig Regester is the Associate Director for the University of Michigan Ann Arbor’s Semester in Detroit Program – now in its fourth year of bringing UM undergraduates to Detroit to live, take urban studies classes, and intern with a Detroit community-based organization. Previously, Craig worked with youth at Save Our Sons And Daughters (SOSAD) and La Sed Youth Center; in development and capacity-building roles with SEMCOSH, Alternatives for Girls, and the Sugar Law Center; and as a graduate student organizer with the American Federation of Teachers. Craig earned his BA in Social Science in 1993 from the Residential College at the University of Michigan; he received a Masters of Arts in Teaching from Wayne State University in 2007. Craig lives with his family in the Hubbard Farms neighborhood of Southwest Detroit; and plays some mean defense every summer for the Hubbard Farms Bridgecrushers in the Detroit City Futbol League.
