History Professor at the University of Central Florida from 1972 to 2016. Published in both academic and non-academic venues on a number of sport and non-sport topics. This column began as a radio commentary in 1991 and has been more or less continuous since and has been distributed by the Sport Literature Association. In the past few years it has also appeared in this space. He is a native of Minneapolis, Minnesota.
