Crystal Sands is a former academic and writing professor turned hobby farmer, homeschooling mom, and independent publisher. In 2015, after too many years of working too many hours, she decided to change her life and leave a full-time position in academia.
Her blog, pajamasbooksandchickens.com, shares her stories related to making the change and simplifying her life. Her writing focuses on her experiences learning how to hobby farm on a small place in Maine, becoming more self-sufficient, living frugally, living peacefully, and having more time for her children and love.
With her husband, she is the co-founder of an independent publishing company based in Maine, Blue Moose Publishing, where she works to promote books of poetry and nonfiction for children and adults.
