Roving Communications Officer, International Medical Corps

Crystal Wells is a roving communications officer with International Medical Corps, a global humanitarian organization dedicated to saving lives and relieving suffering through emergency health care services and training. She has worked in the NGO sector for 10 years and has traveled extensively to cover needs on the grounds and responses to wars, natural disasters, and disease outbreaks. This includes conflicts in Iraq, Central African Republic, Somalia, and South Sudan; the refugee crisis in the Middle East and Europe; earthquakes in Haiti, Nepal, and Japan; Ebola in West Africa; flooding in southern Africa; and cholera in Haiti. She has also reported on longer-term programming from Tanzania, Rwanda, Mozambique, Kenya, and Sierra Leone. She has bachelor’s degrees in both business administration and communications from Boston University and lives in New York City.
