Cynthia Barron, Senior Director of Domestic Projects Community and Family Engagement, is responsible for overseeing the execution of various Sesame Workshop initiatives that reach beyond television and into local communities, schools, health and child care settings to address the unmet needs of children and their caregivers. These multiple-media projects promote literacy, respect and understanding, language skill, school readiness, emergency preparedness and health. Ms. Barron has managed a number of Sesame Workshop initiatives that have won numerous awards; these include a 2008 Emmy nomination for the broadcast special When Parents Are Deployed and the Gold World Medal for video content created for a recent partnership with PNC, PNC Happy, Healthy, Ready for School: Learning is Everywhere, at the New York Festivals Film and Video awards.



In her previous position, Barron served as a Manager of International Television and Home Video Distribution at Sesame Workshop, assisting in worldwide distribution of television series and home videos, post production and language dubbing. Prior to joining the Workshop, Barron was a project manager for International Television and Film at New Line Cinema where she worked on television and film projects including 13 Days, Rush Hour 2, and Austin Powers: Goldmember. Barron holds bachelor degrees from Fordham University and New York University in Television and Film and Integrated Marketing Communications respectively.
