Cynthia Powell, a Washington, DC-based communications consultant (www.CPknowhow.com), has been telling stories for a living for 20-plus years. She plans and leads issue-oriented positioning and media campaigns that get the word out in ink, create blogger buzz, and put spokespeople on radio and TV.

Trained and experienced as a print journalist, she recently blogged about belugas in Russia’s White Sea (http://www.mywhaleweb.com/?author=24) and escorted journalists in post-quake Haiti to highlight older people’s plight (http://cpknowhow.wordpress.com/).
