Training and Launch Chief, Bizdom U

Dan Izzo is the Training and Launch Chief for Bizdom U, an entrepreneurship accelerator he helped start in the city of Detroit. Bizdom U has launched several businesses in the past year. Dan sits on the board of directors of all of the businesses funded by Bizdom, and works daily with the businesses helping them achieve profitability.

Dan joined Bizdom U in 2006. He has a comprehensive and diverse background. He successfully ran his own law practice in Chicago for seven years, and then moved to Michigan and founded Improv Inferno, a successful comedy club in Ann Arbor. He has extensive experience as an instructor, having taught at the Second City Chicago and Detroit, and Columbia College of Chicago. He has also provided training to several companies in the area of communication and team building. Dan was a speaker at TEDx Detroit, Crain’s Detroit Small Business Awards and the National Summit.

Dan graduated with a degree in psychology from the University of Notre Dame in 1989 and a law degree from Loyola University of Chicago Law School in 1992. At Loyola, he was a senior member of the law journal and graduated magna cum laude.

Dan loves coaching people, particularly people who are looking to expand or improve upon their existing strengths. He prides himself on being direct and honest with people, and motivating people with direct feedback. He believes that “life's too short to not tell the truth.”
