Dan Jacobson

Legislative Director, Environment California

Dan Jacobson directs policy development, research, and legislative advocacy for Environment California. Based in Sacramento, he leads the organization's policy agenda and advocates before the state Legislature. The Administration and Congress. He has been with the organization for 28 years.

Dan attended the Copenhagen Conference of Parties in 2008 and is also attending the Conference of Parties in 2015 in Paris.

In 2012, Dan was named by Sacramento insiders as one of the most effective lobbyists in the Capitol. Capitol Weekly said, "Legislative Director Dan Jacobson and his crew at Environment California are punching above their weight."

In 2015, Dan led efforts to pass SB 350 (deLeón), the strongest renewable energy law in the country. He also worked to pass SB 185 (deLeón) to get CALPERS and CALSTRS to divest from coal companies. in 2013 he initiated The Charge Ahead Campaign which will bring 1 million clean cars to California by 2020. He has worked to ensure the success of the Million Solar Roof campaign. He has lead the fight to pass the statewide bill to ban single-use plastic bags and he is working to ban fracking in California.

He has appeared on The O’Reilly Factor on the Fox News Channel, and has been featured in The New York Times, The Los Angeles Times, The San Francisco Chronicle, and The Sacramento Bee.
