Daniel Maidman

Daniel Maidman (born Toronto, Canada, 1975) is an artist whose imagery occupies a spectrum from high rendering to almost total abstraction, with an emphasis on the figure. He has produced paintings in collaboration with best-selling novelist China Miéville, award-winning poet Kathleen Rooney, and independent film icon Martin Donovan. Maidman’s art has been shown in group and solo shows in Manhattan, and in juried exhibitions nationwide. His art and extensive writing on art have been featured in ARTnews, Forbes, Juxtapoz, Whitehot Magazine, Hyperallergic, American Art Collector, International
 Artist, Poets/Artists, MAKE, Manifest, and The Artist’s Magazine. He blogs for The Huffington Post. Maidman’s work is included in the permanent collections of the Library of Congress, the New Britain Museum of American Art, and the Long Beach Museum of Art. The forthcoming Daniel Maidman: Nudes" (Griffith Moon Publishing, 2017) will compile his recent drawings. They will also be featured in "The Figurative Artist’s Handbook" (Monacelli Press, 2016). Maidman lives and works in Brooklyn, New York.
