Daniel Noltemeyer was the driving force behind the establishment of Best Buddies Kentucky, a spin-off of the Best Buddies International organization founded in 1989.

Best Buddies works to promote social inclusion for children and adults with disabilities. Daniel, 32, can attest to the discrimination that prevents that inclusion as he himself has Down syndrome. But Daniel Noltemeyer has not only accepted the challenges presented by this genetic condition, he has turned into an internationally known spokesman for people with all disabilities. He penned a compelling op-ed that ran in the Louisville Courier Journal two years ago that addressed discrimination often experienced by people with IDD (intellectual development disabilities). His speaking appearances at Best Buddies events are renowned for his emotional, heartfelt stories about discrimination he has faced personally.

Daniel also is a high-profile Best Buddies Ambassador for Best Buddies International (BBI). He has won numerous awards, including the Spirit of Courage Award presented by Best Buddies International.
