Daniel R. Weinberger

Director and CEO, the Lieber Institute for Brain Development

Dr. Weinberger is regarded worldwide as the preeminent scientist in schizophrenia research, having been at the forefront of scientific investigation of the illness and related disorders for a generation. He has published broadly in a range of leading scientific journals including Nature, Science and The New England Journal of Medicine. He became the Director and CEO of the Lieber Institute for Brain Development (www.libd.org) in the summer of 2011 after leaving the National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH), where he was head of the Genes, Cognition and Psychosis Program. At the Lieber Institute, he leads a world-class team of scientists with over 200 years’ cumulative experience and 2,500 published scientific papers.
