Founders and authors of Chi Running, Chi Walking and Chi Marathon

Danny and Katherine are the co-founders of ChiRunning and Chi Walking, revolutionary forms of moving that blend the subtle inner focuses of T'ai Chi with running and walking. Their work is based on his study of T'ai Chi with Master Zhu Xilin and internationally renowned Grandmaster George Xu, and a combined 60 years of experience, running, walking, writing and coaching people in “intelligent movement." They have taught thousands of people the ChiRunning and ChiWalking techniques with profound results.

The Dreyer’s first book, ChiRunning: A Revolutionary Approach to Effortless, Injury-free Running was released April of 2004, by Simon & Schuster. ChiWalking: Fitness Walking for Lifelong Health and Energy was released in March of 2006. Their latest book, Chi Marathon: A Breakthrough Natural Running Program for a Pain-Free Half Marathon and Marathon was released in March of 2012.

Danny is an accomplished Ultra Marathon runner (races longer than a marathon) and has raced every distance from a 10K to 100 miles. He has successfully completed 40 ultra-marathons since 1995, finishing in the top 3 in his age group in all but one. He has also been a keynote speaker at many major marathon health and fitness expos.

Katherine has been involved in the natural products and the health and fitness industry for over 30 years. She is an accomplished writer, lecturer and teacher, and has been the visionary leader of the entire line of Chi Living products and services.

The Dreyers have each lived lifestyles steeped in holistic living, meditation, t'ai chi and personal wellness for over 35 years. Healthy eating, physical exercise and rejuvenating activities are mainstays in their lives and the foundation of what they teach. They empower all their students to live pro-active lives, whether they’re a runner, walker, or a corporate executive.
