David Brendel, MD, PhD is a Boston-based executive coach who empowers high-level business leaders and professionals to manage stress, avoid burnout, lead effectively, achieve peak performance in their work, and reach fulfillment in a well integrated professional and personal life. He is founder and director of Leading Minds Executive Coaching and co-founder (with Ryan Stelzer) of Strategy of Mind. David also provides executive coaching services for Boston-based Camden Consulting Group (where he is a Partner) and for The Leadership Development Group (based in New York City). He is a career assessment partner for Essex Partners in Boston, which provides consulting services for successful individuals navigating a major career transition. Trained at Harvard Medical School, Dr. Brendel is a clinical psychiatrist who has published extensively in the medical literature. With a Ph.D. in philosophy from the University of Chicago and certification from the American Philosophical Practitioners Association, he also provides philosophical counseling services to executives and high-level professionals who wish to deepen their self-awareness and clarify their goals and values. David integrates mindfulness strategies into his coaching practice, in close collaboration with his colleague Emmie Roe Stamell who is a meditation and yoga specialist. Emmie is an Associate at Leading Minds Executive Coaching, as are Stefan Kalt, Ph.D. (an accomplished philosopher and certified executive coach) and Allison Abrams, LCSW (a mindfulness coach and psychotherapist).
