Why I'm Marching for the 1st Time in 50 Years
David Kleinberg was an editor and writer at the San Francisco Chronicle for 34 years, the last 14 as editor of the paper's Sunday Datebook Magazine. He has been a stand-up comedian for 10 years, and worked with Robin Williams, Dana Carvey and Richard Lewis. He has been a solo theater artist for nine years. His work "Hey, Hey, LBJ!" -- about his year as an army combat correspondent in Vietnam -- has received honors and critical acclaim, and has been performed at the 42nd St Theater in New York, Washington DC, New Orleans, San Francisco and Sydney, Australia. Last April, Kleinberg returned to Vietnam for the first time in 50 years to revisit where his buddies died in a bunker, and performed LBJ under threat of arrest on the 41st anniversary of the fall of Saigon. Kleinberg is currently working on a sequel to LBJ, titled, "Return to the Scene of the Crime."
