David Stebenne

Professor of History and Law, Ohio State University

David Stebenne is an historian at Ohio State University. He earned a B.A. in History from Yale and a J.D. and a Ph.D. (in History) from Columbia. Stebenne teaches modern U.S. political and constitutional history in the History Department at Ohio State, and American legal history in the Moritz College of Law there. He is the author of two books (Arthur J. Goldberg: New Deal Liberal, (Oxford U. Press, 1996; and Modern Republican: Arthur Larson and the Eisenhower Years, Indiana U. Press, 2006) and the co-author of a third (with Joseph R. Mitchell, New City Upon A Hill: A History of Columbia, Maryland, The History Press, 2007). He is currently writing a history of the USA from the 1930's through the 1960's.
