Debra Chasnoff is an Academy Award-winning filmmaker who has created more than a dozen acclaimed documentaries that have strong social justice themes, won dozens of film festival awards including many "Best Documentary" and "Audience Favorite" honors, and screened at the White House and for Congress. Her producing and directing credits include the Oscar-winning "Deadly Deception", the landmark "It’s Elementary—Talking About Gay Issues in School", and a group of films focused on youth including "Straightlaced—How Gender’s Got Us All Tied Up" and "Let's Get Real" about bias-based bullying. She is president and senior producer at GroundSpark, a national filmmaking and education organization. She received the first-ever alumnae achievement award in documentary filmmaking from Wellesley College.
