Ellison Walcott

She is a writer living in New York City

Ellison Walcott is a freelance writer and editor living in New York City. She derives her inspiration from politics, personal experience, pop culture and the arts. Her work ranges from traditional journalism to blogs, poetry, creative nonfiction, fiction and writing business proposals and grants. She has been published in literary magazines, regional and alternative newspapers and national and international art magazines. She won a Pen American Grant, a Woolrich Fellowship, a Kentucky Foundation Women’s Grant, a Ropewalk Writers’ Retreat Fellowship, 2nd place in the Metrouniversity Poetry Contest, and an honorable mention from Discovery/The Nation Poetry Contest. Ms. Walcott has an MFA in Writing from Sarah Lawrence College and an MA and BA in English Literature from the University of Louisville in Kentucky. She is currently working on her first book. She will be attending the Thread At Yale program 2017.
