Deena Varshavskaya

Founder and CEO, Wanelo

Deena Varshavskaya, is the Founder and CEO of Wanelo (“wah-nee-lo,” from Want, Need, Love), a personalized mall on your phone, currently used by millions of people to discover and buy amazing products on the internet.

Deena started Wanelo because she became frustrated with the shopping options in traditional malls. She knew there had to be a better way to find amazing products and stores, so she decided to create a single destination that would let people do their shopping in one place and personalize their shopping experience to match their own unique style.

Deena spent more than two years working on Wanelo before attracting its first users. In 2011, she moved to San Francisco and raised funding after 40 investor rejections.

She was named one of the 100 Most Intriguing Entrepreneurs for two years in a row by Goldman Sachs; recognized by Forbes as one of “The Power Women Who Are Reinventing The Way You Shop Fashion Online"; appeared in Fast Company’s Most Creative People in Business list; and was highlighted as one of 15 “up-and-comers to keep an eye on” in Vanity Fair’s Next Establishment list.
