Demetria Arvanitis

Demetria Arvanitis leads Winrock International’s Volunteer Technical Assistance Division, managing programs that create opportunities for U.S. volunteers to work with farms, agribusinesses and civil society organizations worldwide. Winrock International has sent more than 2,400 volunteers to 56 countries to perform assignments in food security, agribusiness, small business development and local organization capacity development. Her portfolio also includes projects that support development of civil society in post-conflict countries such as the Building Responsibility for the Delivery of Government Services (BRIDGE) project in Southern Sudan. Previously, Ms. Arvanitis has served as a project officer for the U.S. Agency for International Development in Russia and Pakistan managing health, education and training projects.
