Dennis Hetzel has been a reporter, editor, publisher, college instructor, lobbyist and trade association executive. He's currently president and executive director of the Ohio News Media Association in Columbus, Ohio, and serves as president of the Ohio Coalition for Open Government. During his years as a journalist, Hetzel says he sometimes was accused of writing fiction, but now he does it on purpose, combining his passion for politics and baseball. His novel "Season of Lies" will be available in spring 2017. It follows his award-winning debut thriller, "Killing the Curse," both released by Headline Books. A Chicago native, Hetzel began his career as a weekly newspaper sports editor in the Chicago suburbs and has been an executive at several newspapers, including the Cincinnati Enquirer and the York, Pa., Daily Record, where he was editor and publisher for 13 years. He has won numerous awards and taught journalism at Penn State and Temple universities.
