Books include: Making History: The American Left and the American Mind; Playing for Change: Music and musicians in the Service of Social Movements (with Rob Rosenthal); Making History and Making Blintzes: How Two Red Diaper Babies Found Each Other and Discovered America (with Miriam Flacks; forthcoming). His weekly radio Program 'Culture of Protest" has been heard for 35 years at www.kcsb.org. He is emeritus professor of sociology at the University of California, Santa Barbara.
