Don Hinkle-Brown is President and CEO of The Reinvestment Fund, a national leader in the financing of neighborhood revitalization, which has made $1.3 billion in community investments since 1985. A CDFI, TRF finances housing, community facilities, supermarkets, commercial real estate and energy efficiency projects. It also provides public policy expertise by helping clients create actionable solutions and by sharing data and analysis via www.PolicyMap.com. TRF is a leader in improving the food landscape in low-income communities, having provided more than $180 million in financing to 130 healthy food projects—from supermarkets to corner stores and produce distribution centers. In 2014, TRF launched ReFresh, a national initiative that brings organizations together to share expertise and pursue opportunities in order to support healthy food access projects that benefit low-income communities.
