Dorothy Spears is a frequent contributor to the culture pages of the <em>New York Times</em>. Her anthology, <em>Flight Patterns: A Century of Stories About Flying</em>, includes essays and stories by Orville Wright, Joan Didion, David Sedaris, among many others, and was published in 2009 by Open City Books. <br />
After graduating from Brown University with a BA in Comparative Literature, Dorothy worked at the Leo Castelli Gallery for four years. There, she began writing first for magazines such as <em>Arts,</em> and then later for <em>Art on Paper, The Journal of Art, Art & Antiques, ArtNews, Art + Auction, Art In America</em>, and <em>Departures</em>. She lives in New York City.
