Since 2006, Doug Wirth has served as President and CEO of Amida Care, a Medicaid special needs health plan (SNP) in New York City. He was previously Executive Director of Community Care Partners health plan. Doug has served as a Health Policy Advisor to Mayors David Dinkins and Rudy Giuliani, where he oversaw the community planning process that led to binding recommendations for over $100 million in Ryan White funding to New York City and New York State. Doug is the former Board Chair of the New York AIDS Coalition and Senior Faculty Member of the APA’s HOPE Project. His other consulting work has focused on creating innovative programs and services to address overlapping issues of poverty, physical and behavioral health, human sexuality, cultural competency, as well as holistic/integrative approaches to fostering individual and community wellness.
