A.B. Wilkinson is an Assistant Professor of History at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV). He has teaching and research interests in colonial North America and early U.S. history, as well as African American history, Native American history, Ethnic Studies, and critical race theory in the Americas. Dr. Wilkinson specializes in studies of mixed-heritage peoples and ideas around ethnoracial mixture. He's currently working on a book that explores how we first came to think about "mixed race" and people of mixed ancestry – tentatively titled “Blurring the Lines of Race and Freedom: Mulattoes, Mustees, and Mixed Bloods in English Colonial North America."
