Dr. Alan Heisterkamp

Dr. Alan Heisterkamp directs the Center for Violence Prevention at the University of Northern Iowa in Cedar Falls. He was the education consultant for "Bully," directed the "Sioux City Project" research study for the Waitt Institute for Violence Prevention, 2007 - 2011, and co-authored educational outreach materials for the Emmy nominated film documentary, Private Violence. He implemented the first high school gender violence, bystander intervention program (Mentors in Violence Prevention - MVP) in the state of Iowa in 1999-2000, as well as, the first "pilot research study" on Coaching Boys into Men program in 2007.
