Dr. Anthony Hassan

Director and Clinical Professor, Center for Innovation and Research on Veterans & Military Families, USC School of Social Work

ANTHONY M. HASSAN, EdD, LCSW is a clinical professor at the USC School of Social Work, serving as the inaugural director of the Center for Innovation and Research on Veterans and Military Families (CIR). A retired Air Force officer, he brings 25 years of experience in military social work and leadership development. Hassan served during Operation Iraqi Freedom in 2004 on the first-ever Air Force combat stress control and prevention team embedded with the Army. He also served as chair of the task force for developing national guidelines for military social work graduate programs as well as on the Commission on Professional Development for the Council on Social Work Education. Currently, Hassan serves on the Los Angeles City Workforce Investment Board and is a mayoral appointee on the Military Veteran Advisory Council, a new initiative out of the Los Angeles Mayor’s Office of Veterans Affairs.
