Dr. Peter Klatsky

Fertility specialist, human rights activist, & social entrepreneur.

Medical/Scientific: Dr. Klatsky is board certified in both Obstetrics and Gynecology and Reproductive Endocrinology & Infertility and trained in the top medical institutions in the United States. He graduated with alpha omega alpha honors from The Mount Sinai School of Medicine, completed his residency training at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) and an Infertility fellowship at Brown University. He also received an MPH from Columbia University. Dr. Klatsky’s scientific accomplishments include clinical as well as cutting edge molecular genetic and stem cell research. He has given numerous invited presentations and published in national and international medical journals. In addition to a clinical medical career, he has achieved notable successes in multiple global health projects. Social Entrepreneur: As Founder, Director of Mama Rescue, Dr. Klatsky conceived of, designed and obtained funding to develop an automated, cloud based, mobile-phone application that facilitates rapid, emergency referrals for obstetric & perinatal complications identified at rural health centers to reduce maternal and neonatal mortality. Mama Rescue also provides e vouchers for routine perinatal transportation for women completing recommend antenatal care. Mama Rescue strengthens existing systems, communicating critical information over a cellular network and providing mobile money reimbursements to facilitate prompt access to skilled medical care without requiring new infrastructure. Dr. Klatsky obtained competitive grants to pilot Mama Rescue from the World Bank, Vitol Foundation and negotiated a private sector partnership with MTN, the largest telecom in Uganda. Dr. Klatsky founded Medical Students Making Impacts in 2001, engaging medical students in setting up projects in Nigeria and Tanzania. MSMI continues to involve medical students and physicians today in forging long-lasting sustainable relationships with medically underserved communities in Africa, Central America, as well as underserved Native American communities in the United States. Entrepreneur: Dr. Klatsky is the co-founder and CEO of Spring Fertility, a medical services organization that delivers superior fertility services. Dr. Klatsky helped found Blueprint Health, a seed accelerator for early stage health technology startups in New Your City. Human Rights and Justice Advocate: Dr. Klatsky has lived and worked in Zimbabwe, Peru and Thailand. Prior to starting medical school, Dr. Klatsky worked in Thailand with EarthRights International on human and environmental rights issues in Myanmar (Burma). Since then he has started medical school chapters of Physicians for Social Responsibility and Physicians for a National Health Program. He was on the medical leadership committee at the Rhode Island Free clinic, where he volunteered. He also contributed to the Policy committee of the National Physicians Alliance as they sought improved ways to deliver and expand access to quality medical care in the United States. Media & Arts: Dr. Klatsky’s regularly contributes to the Huffington Post in both writing and on camera (HuffPo Live) and has been interviewed on radio, as well. Associations and Awards Dr. Klatsky is a former Term member of the Council on Foreign Relations. He is an active member of the American Society for Reproductive Medicine and the American Board of Obstetricians & Gynecologists. He has been listed as a Rising Star in New York Physicians, accepted into America’s top Obstetricians & Gynecologists 2014, and a Castle Connolly Top Doctor in 2017. He is licensed to practice medicine in California and New York State.
