Founder, Initiative Governance, Reconciliation and Coexistence (Grace Initiative)

Yvonne Lodico, co-founder with a collaboration of experts in peacebuilding, reconciliation, sustainable development and international law: The Initiative for Governance, Reconciliation and Coexistence (Grace Initiative), a non-profit based in the US and now with an office in Bogota. Previously, she served in various capacities with the UN, including four UN peacekeeping missions, three in Sub-Sahara Africa and in Timor-Leste. She also served as Head of the New York of Office of UNITAR, for almost five years. Yvonne has published and given presentations on democratic governance, peacekeeping, humanitarian intervention, stem cell research and faith, faith and pluralistic societies. She has recently published an article, “the Healing Force of Multi- faith Engagement”, Yale Reflections magazine.  The premise of the article, “Moving forward in search of peace, we global citizens of the 21st century must grasp this: international engagement – based on the dignity of every person, despite racial, ethnic and religious differences – serves the common good, providing a source of compatibility and coexistence. Yvonne has received awards and scholarships from Yale University Divinity School, European Academy of Economic and Cultural Relations, and New York State Bar Association.  Her academic background, incudes advanced degrees in law, international affairs, and religion from New York University, Columbia University and Yale University.
