Ed Bolen joined the Center on Budget and Policy Priorities in 2010 as a Senior Policy Analyst. His work focuses on state and federal issues in the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program.<br />
Prior to joining the Center, Bolen was Senior Policy Analyst at California Food Policy Advocates. While there, he advocated for administrative and legislative improvements to food assistance programs and provided training and technical assistance to community-based organizations. He also has worked in public health law, most recently consulting on legal strategies to combat childhood obesity with the National Policy and Legal Analysis Network. Prior to that, Bolen was senior staff attorney at the Child Care Law Center, specializing on licensing, subsidy and legislative issues affecting low-income families in child care and early education settings.<br />
He received his law degree from University of California Hastings.
