Elly Vandenberg

Senior Director, Policy and Advocacy for World Vision Canada

Elly Vandenberg is the Senior Director, Policy and Advocacy for World Vision Canada, an international development organization dedicated to working with children, families and communities to overcome poverty and injustice, regardless of religion, race, ethnicity or gender.

Elly oversees WVC’s advocacy efforts, engaging with governments and key influencers to understand their decision-making contexts in order to influence child health, child protection and aid effectiveness in fragile states. Relying on strategic relationship building, research, analysis, policy development, policy influence and public awareness, she often works in coalition with other Canadian and international groups.

Elly graduated from University of Toronto in International Development Studies and started her career as a participant with Canada World Youth, and as an intern with World University Service of Canada. She has worked for organizations such as Primate’s World Relief and Development Fund, Canadian International Development Agency and Ecumenical Church Loan Fund.

She and her husband have three teenage sons.
